In this living room we have finished installing Rome from the Metropolitan series, by Aurora Hardwood West. It is 9/16″ thick with 3 mm top veneer, Wire Brushed, and a Seven Layer Treffert UV- cured acrylic urethane with aluminum oxide.
Here the method of installation used by our installer is the Glue Down Method. Since this house was located in Malibu, our client decided to go with the 2:1 Glue. This 2:1 Glue comes with a Moisture Resistant Barrier that can help prevent buckling Swelling, Floor Lifting, expansion ect., due to the humidity. As you can also see, the last piece of wood or plank that will be placed in that area where you see the glue will be a special cut. The installer will have to be on his a game, measure the space correctly, draw it on the board and make the custom cut.
Rome by Metropolitan from Aurora Hardwood West. Is unique, elegant, and looks that much better installed.
The Installer is hitting the wood with a rubber hammer to insure that the tongue and groove are tightly together. It is a very common procedure during the installation process.
Before we even began to install Rome by Aurora Hardwoods from the MEtropolitan Series, we left the floor in the house for approximately 48-96 hours before installation. What the wood needs is acclimation, which is the process of getting your new floors used to the conditions inside your house such as temperature and humidity. Due to this Installation being in Malibu, we left it seating for about 96 hours to play it safe.
Here the installer is using the trowel to finish laying the glue on the concrete where the Engineered wood floor will be installed.
